Course Introduction
Teachers Train Teachers as a multi accredited teachers training provider offers this course with the approval of the NCFE Cache. This qualification enables learners to gain the knowledge and experience which allow them to work with children from birth to 5 years. Upon achievement of the level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education it is intended that learners will be able to access higher education or enter the workforce as early years educators.
Who is it suitable for?
This qualification is suitable for a range of learners either working or wishing to work in early years education and care. The Diploma is also suitable for those wishing to progress to higher education.

Teaching & Learning:
How will I learn?
We offer a blended training that will typically consist of active learning in a classroom environment as well as remote learning with online webinars. You will also have access to guest speakers who will share their expertise around safeguarding, using technology in the classroom and managing classroom behavior. You will also learn on the job through your teaching practice and reflecting on your practice.
How will I be assessed?
As this is a technical qualification there will be controlled assessments that take place under exam conditions. You will be continually assessed throughout the programme – both during and at the end of each unit – through written assignments, observation and simulated practical assessments.
40% of the course will be assessed through your work experience which is a compulsory part of the course – you must achieve a minimum of 800 hours in a variety of work settings to enable you to gain a license to practice.
You will have a trained assessor who will work with you and the settings that you go into to assess your ability to work with children and other professionals.
As part of the Governments requirements for all Early Years Educators to have both Maths and English either GCSE grade C or 4/5 or functional skills level 2 you will be required to continue with both subjects and depending on the level you are taking there will also be exams for these aspects of your programme of study.
Entry Requirements:
To access the course you are required to have:
- Four or more GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above including English and Math OR
- A good pass in a Level 2 early years qualification, including completion of all placement requirements, plus English at GCSE grade C/4 or above and Maths at a Grade 3
You are also required to have:
- Practical experience within an Early Years environment
- Satisfactory DBS check
- Minimum 90% attendance from previous academic establishment
- Satisfactory references
